Last week our L.A. office got “fired up” about the Heart of the City 5K Run/Walk as co-sponsors of the race’s Corporate Cup Reception, which took place at The Urban Oven in downtown Los Angeles. The Heart of the City 5K is an exhilarating event that promotes health and a friendly sense of competition and benefits the California Hospital Medical Center Foundation. Look for the Snell & Wilmer Corporate Cup team on race day, Saturday, March 24. For more information about the race, visit their event page here:

For the ninth consecutive year, the firm played a vital role in supporting the Maricopa County StandDown, an annual two-day event held at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix that provides a wide array of services to at-risk veterans, including a legal clinic. Snell & Wilmer attorneys and staff assisted more than 150 veterans in an effort to improve their lives through activities such as purging outstanding traffic tickets and violations the veterans had in other states so they could acquire temporary driver’s licenses in Arizona. The team also helped set up small payment plans with debt collectors, helped with child support plans, worked to reduce the results of assault cases and arranged community service hours for certain veterans so their probation terms would end quickly and positively. #MCStandDown

The Denver branch of Snell & Wilmer’s Community Involvement Committee is hosting monthly in-office fundraisers to raise money for charities and other great causes. Their mission is to support and connect with a variety of non-profit organizations, as well as participate in community service projects. In January, they collected donations to purchase hygiene products for the local Samaritan House Homeless Shelter. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, enough money was raised to achieve their goal and they were able to deliver a trunk full of items, including: toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, feminine care items, soap and facial tissues. To learn how you can get involved with improving the Samaritan House’s future, you can visit them at

Snell & Wilmer’s Las Vegas office hosted a reception marking the 10-Year Anniversary of its Nevada Bar Professional Fellowship Program in conjunction with UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law. The Fellowship Program was established to provide diverse students of the law school with an educational and practical experience by pairing them with local legal employers with a long-term goal of increasing diversity in their hiring and retention. The firm’s Las Vegas office began participating in the program in 2009, when Snell & Wilmer Administrative Partner Alex Fugazzi served as the hiring partner. Snell & Wilmer invited past Fellows to celebrate 10 years of this successful initiative, as well as to welcome its newest Fellow in 2018, Alexis Wendl.

An unusually heavy downpour in Southern Nevada didn’t dampen the spirits of Harvard University alumni who gathered at Snell & Wilmer’s Las Vegas office on January 9 for Harvard Global Networking Night. A semiannual event that brings alumni together for one night every June and January in cities around the world, the event is designed for graduates to explore and expand their Harvard network. Snell & Wilmer Partner and Harvard Graduate Steve Yoken (fourth from right) was pleased to once again host the event. #HarvardNetwork #GNN
