Today we’re saying thank you to our donors, to our pro bono attorneys and to our partners. Thank you to each of you who helps support Children’s Law Center and our mission of building a brighter future for all of DC’s kids. With your generous support, we were able to raise more than $1.55 million so far to help us fight for our most at-risk kids. We couldn’t do it without you.

We just shared Markia’s story, and SPOILER ALERT—it’s a great one. When we met Markia, her medical, educational and family needs were all being neglected. Children’s Law Center advocated for each of her specific needs and helped place her with her forever family, the Taylors. We often work with WilmerHale's pro bono attorneys on cases like this one. When one WilmerHale attorney talks about her adoption, he says “if there was ever a slam dunk case, it was for the Taylors.” Markia has made huge strides since we met her. She is a fun little girl who loves school, playing soccer and riding her bike. Markia is the reason we do what we do. Stay tuned for the video!
