Each year Snell & Wilmer employees spend a Saturday morning volunteering at the main campus of the Arizona Humane Society. Volunteers received a tour of the facility before working to make "no sew” fleece blankets for the cats and small dogs. This year, volunteers also got to stuff Kong dog toys with treats and distribute them to the dog of their choice. As one volunteer said, "It’s amazing how quiet the kennels got once all the dogs got their Kongs!"

Snell & Wilmer’s Las Vegas office put its dodgeball skills to the test, as team “Face Dismissed” participated in the After-School All-Stars Las VegasDodgeball Tournament on Saturday, February 24 at the Bill & Lillie Heinrich YMCA of Southern Nevada. They made it to the top eight out of 45 teams, and despite being first-time participants, won against last year’s champions and lost only to the team that won it all. Snell & Wilmer Partner, Rob Kinas, served as the team captain and cheered the team on as they triumphantly played six matches. Snell & Wilmer attorney Alexi Layton, and Ryan Semerad of the Nevada Court of Appeals, played key roles in defeating last year’s champions. After-School All-Stars was officially organized in the Las Vegas valley in 2003, and today, they provide dozens of free academic, athletic and cultural after-school programs to more than 6,000 youth at 15 at-risk schools throughout Clark County School District. Snell & Wilmer’s team included (left to right, front row) Rob Kinas, Adam Tully, Alexis Wendl, Theresa Guerra and Paul Larsen and (left to right, back row) Bradley Austin, Justin Carley, Karl Riley, Andrew Clark, Michael Alires, Aleem Dhalla, Ryan Semerad and Alexi Layton.
